Seeing so many lawyers on TV has made people develop a rather unrealistic impression of how lawyers look in the real world. Anyone that works as a criminal defense attorney would know that such a profession is exceedingly demanding, so it’s not all that uncommon for someone or the other to end up looking disheveled especially if they have been working all night on some kind of a case that is absolutely important to them. Lawyers are going to wear suits of course, but in spite of the fact that this is the case they wouldn’t look as snazzy as the actors playing dress up on TV at the end of the day, and it is important to note that this is actually a good thing.
You see, a lawyer that looks too good is a bad sign. Most of the The SoCal Law Network – Criminal Justice Lawyers look fresh but that’s only because they freshened up for the picture. Most of the time lawyers are going to look quite haggard and tired, so if you see a lawyer that looks a bit scruffy don’t let this get inside your head. How a lawyer looks has absolutely no impact on their knowledge of the legal system, nor does it have any sort of bearing on how good they would be at representing you in open court.
A large number of lawyers are starting to protest against this notion that lawyers should look spick and span at all times. The legal profession is demanding enough as it is, and asking criminal defense attorneys to dress up every single day just places even more of a burden on all of them.
